SANIE (Stand Alone Network Interface Equipment) is part of the Clansman Combat Radio Net equipment. When in service, it would have been fitted with the BID/460 unit. BID/460 was used to secure data for BATES (Battlefield Artillery Target Engagement System). which was used by the British Army.

The BID/460 nameplate is affixed to the underside of the protective "lip". Due to the small size of the device, this is the only spot for it. (Photo courtesy HMVF Forum). |
