The Cryptocode cipher machine was patented in 1928 by Joseph Grassi in England and made by Cryptocode Machine Syndicate London, England. It enciphered consonants into consonants and vowels into vowels, making the resulting enciphered text more "pronounceable", which would reduce errors.
