GRETACODER 518 Encryption Device

Made by Gretag, this encryption/decryption  device was used between a modem and a terminal for almost all synchronous data communications at data rates up to 20 bits per second. Encryption and decryption  was done automatically via a microprocessor.

The exact purpose of the plug is not known at this time,. Perhaps it is an enabling key of some type.
