A RESTORED FAIREY FIREFLY AS 6

This AS 6 Fairey Firefly is part of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum collection and was photographed at Mount Hope Airport, Hamilton Ontario in 1996 and 1998 by Carlos Fernandez.   The Museum's AS 6 was the first aircraft  type acquired which explains why the Firefly is pictured on the CWH decals and letterhead. Camden Air Museum (Australia) provided CWH  with this Firefly which originally flew with the Royal Navy. The CWHM Firefly was restored by Victoria Air Maintenance, Sidney, British Columbia and returned to Mount Hope in June 1996. It carries the markings of VH142/BD-G of 825 RCN Squadron which flew Fireflies from the carrier HMCS Magnificent, circa 1950.
