OTHER:

Can be controlled by up to four remote control units. One remote control is shipped  with each TDZ. Selection of the desired operating frequency is accomplished through the use of a 10 digit impulse telephone dial. One dial is provided on the face of the transmitter while the other is on the remote control unit.

An HMCS HAIDA deficiency report dated October 1955 indicates that the automatic tuning feature is considered "inefficient" and is good for coarse tuning only. The set must be retuned by hand to obtain maximum output. An upgrade to TED (URT-502) transmitter was recommended.
