| The four pushbutton
tabs, bear the station identifiers of CFCY, CBR, CHNS, and WCAU. Out of
curiosity, it would he fun to find out where these stations were located.
Here are the results:
CFCY – Was 960 AM starting in 1925. In 1931, it moved to 580 AM, and then to its final AM frequency of 630 in 1933. Moved to 95.1 FM in 2006. Broadcasting from PEI. CBR – 1010 AM as of 1964 . Broadcasting from Calgary . Wikipedia incorrectly list this as a clear channel station. It is not. CFRB 1010 in Toronto is on that 1010 frequency and has been since 1927. It is correctly listed as a clear channel station in Wikipedia,. CHNS – Halifax – Was 930 AM . Converted to 89.9 FM WCAU – 1050 Philadelphia. Converted to WCAU-TV. CBR and WCAU seem to be geographically out of place when compared to CHNS and CFCY. No accurate conclusion could be derived from this exercise. Click on image to enlarge.
